Pagani Car Shipping Dubai

Ship a Pagani to Dubai

There is no body shop for a Pagani. There is one building, at San Cesario sul Panaro outside Modena, and Horacio Pagani has put the position in writing in his own company's material: they are "the only ones in the world capable of rebuilding and restoring Paganis as they came out of our Atelier." On almost every other car we move, transit damage is a repair cost. On a Pagani it is a return shipment to Italy and a place in a queue that takes one car at a time.

So the work inverts: you do not manage the repair, you prevent the damage and evidence the condition. Opera Shipping moves Paganis into and out of Dubai by air — enclosed, climate-stable, handled the fewest possible times, insured with no upper limit on the car's value, and run by one dedicated coordinator from collection through to RTA registration. This is the Pagani-specific version of our luxury and exotic car shipping service, part of our wider car shipping work.

The fastest answer: how to ship a Pagani to Dubai

  • Recommended method: air freight in an enclosed unit — fastest, fewest handovers, climate-stable.
  • Considered second: a dedicated, sole-use enclosed sea container. One car, one container, nothing shared.
  • Not recommended: shared container or open RoRo for a car of this kind.

To quote we need:

  • Model and year
  • The gearbox (automated manual vs genuine manual)
  • Origin and UAE destination
  • Painted or bare-weave bodywork
  • Road or track specification
  • Your timeline

The reality of shipping a Pagani: nothing on it can be replaced from a shelf

Every other marque on this site has a problem you can measure — a Ferrari's is ground clearance, a Rolls-Royce's is length. A Pagani's is not a dimension at all: the supply chain has no depth, and the likeliest transit injuries are the two that cannot be undone.

The structure is a proprietary composite, not a bought-in one

Pagani's technical specification for the Utopia lists the monocoque as Carbo-Titanium HP62 G2 and Carbo-Triax HP62 — carbon laminates with titanium filaments woven through them — with front and rear tubular subframes in CrMo alloy steel. Pagani materials, cured in Pagani moulds. No independent composite shop can rebuild that tub to a specification the factory will stand behind.

The finish is often the structure

Many Paganis are delivered in exposed weave rather than paint; Pagani developed a dedicated A-class carbon for visible bodywork, quoted at 38 per cent more stiffness at the same density. On a painted car a handling scuff is a refinish. On bare weave there is no paint layer to sand back into — correcting it means going at the resin above the fibres, and the honest answer is replacement, from Modena.

The numbers behind it are tiny

Ninety-nine Utopia coupés, 130 Utopia Roadsters, 100 Huayra coupés, 100 Huayra Roadsters, five Imola, eight Imola Roadsters, five Codalunga, thirty Huayra R. Pagani's own Rinascimento document records 137 Zonda built since 1999. There is no parts warehouse behind numbers like that.

And the repair channel is singular

Rinascimento is the factory's restoration programme, run at the Modena Atelier one car at a time, using the original moulds, methods and materials, every stage recorded in a book that sits alongside the car's original one. It is not a network. It is a room.

That is a different argument from the Rolls-Royce one, where full cover is justified by the hours of hand work in the finish. Here it is starker: for much of this car, no second party in the world can do the work at all.

Air versus sea freight for a Pagani

Air freight (recommended)

The car travels in an enclosed unit on a controlled route, with the fewest handovers of any method — which on this car is the whole point, because every handover is a chance to create damage with no local remedy.

In one respect a Pagani is the easiest car on our roster to fly. No Pagani in production has a traction battery: the road cars use the 5,980 cc twin-turbo V12 developed for Pagani by Mercedes-AMG, the track cars a naturally aspirated V12 built by HWA. Pagani's stated reason is volume: at well under a hundred cars a year, it says hybrid or electric development cannot be justified.

The freight consequence is concrete — a Pagani is declared as a flammable-liquid-powered vehicle, not a lithium-battery one, so none of the state-of-charge conditions now governing electrified cars by air apply. The rule that does apply is ours as standard: fuel under a quarter of a tank before it flies. Simplest paperwork on the roster, hardest handling on it.

Dedicated enclosed sea container (considered second)

One Pagani, one container, sole use, braced and blocked to its own dimensions. Slower, but sealed end to end.

We also run shared containers and RoRo, and both are proper services for ordinary cars. We do not put a Pagani on either.

How shipping a Pagani to Dubai works

1

Quote and booking

Model, year, variant, gearbox and finish; origin and UAE destination. We confirm method, equipment, paperwork at both ends and a realistic window.

2

Enclosed collection and a condition record built for composites

The car is collected under cover and photographed in full before it moves, and on a Pagani we go further than a photo set, because composite damage does not always dent — energy goes into the laminate rather than into a visible crease. The record covers the front splitter and lower edges, the sills either side of the tub, every panel edge and each wheel; on a bare-weave car the weave is recorded panel by panel in raking light, so any later mark can be dated. Many collections begin in Italy, where the cars are built — see car shipping from Italy to Dubai.

3

Export documentation at origin

Title or registration and export clearance — or, if the car is leaving Dubai, the RTA export certificate and deregistration.

4

Air preparation and transit

Fuel under a quarter, restraint taken at the wheels rather than anywhere on the composite, active aerodynamic surfaces left at rest and never used as a handling point, and the gearbox confirmed before the crew arrives — a three-pedal Utopia is not a car you hand to someone who has not been told. Your coordinator updates you at each stage, and our import service runs both sides as one file.

5

UAE customs clearance

Customs entry, then the Vehicle Clearance Certificate, then GCC-spec conformity through MoIAT if the car is not already GCC-specification. Duty at 5% on the value plus freight and insurance, and 5% VAT on the duty-inclusive total.

6

RTA inspection, registration and delivery

Inspection, insurance, registration, Mulkiya and plates — then the car delivered enclosed, not driven across the city. Cars flown in arrive at DXB or DWC; sea shipments come through Jebel Ali, with Khalifa and Khalid as alternatives.

Documents and customs for a Pagani

On import the UAE charges 5% customs duty on the value plus freight and insurance, and 5% VAT on the duty-inclusive total. Once conformity, inspection, insurance and registration are added, the all-in landed cost on a high-value car commonly runs 13–18% above the car's value. We set that expectation before you commit.

A European-specification Pagani is not automatically accepted for UAE road use. It needs a GCC Conformity Certificate from MoIAT before the RTA will register it; MoIAT assesses climate and air-conditioning tolerance, emissions, lighting and electrical configuration, safety and structure, and speedometer calibration in kilometres per hour.

The UAE registers left-hand-drive cars for road use. Cars over ten years old require pre-approval and cars over thirty may be handled under a classic permit — which matters more here than on most marques, because every Zonda is already past ten and the earliest are approaching thirty. Declared value drives the duty calculation, so valuation and paperwork have to be right first time. That is the part we run end to end.

Pagani Handling and Transit Dubai

Pagani specs, handling and transit

Pagani's published figures for the Utopia and Utopia Roadster: 4,673 mm long, 2,060 mm wide, 1,165 mm high on a 2,796 mm wheelbase, dry weight 1,280 kg, 864 hp and 1,100 Nm. Long, wide, very low and light.

Transmission is the Pagani by Xtrac seven-speed transversal automated manual, or a pure manual — single-clutch, chosen because a dual-clutch would have added weight the car was never going to carry. We confirm which before collection.

Cars fly into DXB or DWC; sea routes through Jebel Ali. Transit depends on origin, routing and method, so we confirm a realistic window at booking.

Pagani models we ship

Utopia (coupé) — 99 cars
Utopia Roadster — 130 cars
Huayra (coupé) & Huayra Roadster — 100 cars each
Huayra BC and Huayra Roadster BC
Huayra Imola and Imola Roadster — 5 and 8 cars
Huayra Codalunga and Codalunga Speedster
Huayra Tricolore
Huayra R and Huayra R Evo — track-only, 30 cars
Zonda, in its road and continuation forms — 137 built since 1999

We also move one-off and Grandi Complicazioni commissions. Two eligibility notes: track-only cars cannot be road-registered in the UAE and move as track assets; and every Zonda now falls under the over-ten-year rule, so we confirm its position before it ships, not after it lands.

Shipping a Pagani from Dubai

Export runs the same way in reverse, and March to June is the peak air-export window, when owners fly cars to Europe ahead of the Gulf summer. On the Dubai side we handle the RTA export certificate and deregistration; at destination, the import formalities and any compliance step that applies. Dubai to Europe is a frequent run for this marque — see our export service. Book early.

Tracking, safety and insurance

The car is handled enclosed from collection, restrained at the wheels, and covered by a condition record built for a composite car rather than a metal one. Your dedicated coordinator gives you progress at every stage.

On cover, the distinction is not academic here. Clause C (Total Loss) pays only if the car is lost outright; Clause A (All Risk) covers damage in transit. On a car whose bodywork cannot be refinished locally and whose structure is rebuilt in one workshop in Italy, damage short of total loss is precisely the exposure that matters — and precisely what Clause C does not touch. We insure to full value with no upper cap, and we write Clause A. Over the past few years we have handled the marques on this hub through exactly that framework.

What shapes your Pagani shipping quote

We do not publish a figure, because it would not hold. What moves it:

  • The method — air against a dedicated enclosed container
  • Origin and routing
  • The declared value, which sets both the insurance and the UAE duty
  • The season, with March to June the busy export window out of Dubai
  • The specification, since a bare-weave or track car is handled differently

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I ship a Pagani to Dubai safely?

By air, in an enclosed unit, restrained at the wheels, with a condition record made for a composite car, insured to full value as Clause A all-risk, and run by one coordinator from collection to RTA registration.

How much does it cost to ship a Pagani to Dubai?

It varies with method, origin, declared value and season, plus UAE duty and VAT on import. We do not publish a flat figure because it would mislead — request a free quote and we will price your exact car and route.

Can a Pagani be registered in Dubai?

Yes, if it is a road car and clears conformity. A non-GCC-specification car needs a GCC Conformity Certificate from MoIAT before the RTA will register it. The UAE registers left-hand-drive cars, which is how Paganis are built. Track-only cars cannot be road-registered.

Does a Pagani need dangerous-goods paperwork to fly?

Not the lithium kind. No Pagani in production has a traction battery, so it moves as a flammable-liquid-powered vehicle and the state-of-charge rules for electrified cars do not apply. Fuel is brought under a quarter of a tank before flight.

What happens if my Pagani is damaged in transit?

This is why we work the way we do. Exposed weave cannot be refinished the way paint can, and the monocoque is a Pagani material rebuilt only by the factory, whose restoration programme runs one car at a time in Modena. Clause A cover and a detailed condition record turn that into a claim rather than an argument.

Can you ship a Zonda?

Yes. Every Zonda is now over ten years old, which means UAE pre-approval, and the earliest are approaching the thirty-year classic threshold. We confirm the position for the specific chassis before it ships.

Can you ship a Huayra R or a track car?

Yes, as a track asset. The Huayra R and R Evo are not road-legal and will not be registered by the RTA. They move to circuits, collections and storage on different documentation.

Enclosed container or air freight?

Air. It is faster and involves fewer handovers, and on a car with no local repair path the handovers are the risk. A dedicated sole-use container is right only when there is no deadline.

Can I ship a Pagani from Dubai as well as to it?

Yes. Export from Dubai peaks March to June, when owners move cars to Europe for the summer — see Dubai to Europe. Book early for that window.

Do you handle the collection in Italy?

Yes. The cars are built near Modena and many movements start there — from the factory area, an owner's collection or the Atelier. See car shipping from Italy to Dubai.
