Ship a Lamborghini to Dubai

A Lamborghini is not hard to move because it is fast. It is hard to move because it is wide, it is low, it is now always a plug-in hybrid, and — on anything with a V12 — it has doors that open upwards. Each of those facts changes how the car is loaded, secured and flown.

Opera Shipping moves Lamborghinis into and out of Dubai by air: enclosed, handled the fewest possible times, insured with no cap on the car's value, and run by one dedicated coordinator from collection through to RTA registration. Whether it is a Revuelto coming out of Italy, an Urus SE following its owner into a Dubai relocation, or a Huracán joining a collection, the car is treated as the asset it is. This is the Lamborghini-specific version of our luxury and exotic car shipping service.

The fast answer: how to ship a Lamborghini to Dubai

  • Recommended method: air freight in an enclosed unit — fastest, fewest touchpoints, climate-stable, loading geometry controlled throughout.
  • Considered second: a dedicated, sole-use enclosed sea container. One car, one container, nothing shared.
  • Not recommended: shared container or open RoRo — both involve handling we do not control on a car of this value.

To quote your Lamborghini we need:

  • Model and year
  • Origin city and country
  • UAE destination
  • Whether the car runs and is standard or modified
  • Your timeline

What actually makes a Lamborghini difficult to ship

Width is the constraint, not length

A Revuelto is 2,033 mm across the body and 2,266 mm across the mirrors. A standard main-deck air cargo pallet is 2,438 mm wide. That leaves under 90 mm of air each side with the mirrors out — so mirrors are folded, the wheels set dead straight, and the car goes on with a spotter on both flanks. The Urus is 2,026 mm wide excluding mirrors and 5,137 mm long, which changes the footprint rather than the clearance. Width decides how a Lamborghini is positioned; height rarely does.

Scissor doors need vertical room

The V12 cars — Revuelto, Fenomeno, and the Aventador and Countach before them — open upwards. Inside an enclosed container or a shrouded air unit, that arc has to exist before the driver can get out — so the car is positioned to allow it, or the driver exits before the final metre. It sounds small. It is the difference between a clean load and a scuffed door edge.

Front-axle lift is a driving aid, not a loading solution

Every modern Lamborghini has a nose-lift system, and owners assume it solves ramp angles. It does not. It works while the car is running, and the nose settles once the car is shut off and secured. The approach angle has to work at the resting ride height, which is why a Lamborghini is loaded on an extended shallow ramp or a lift-gate, never driven up a standard transporter incline.

Lamborghini Shipping Complexities

The Urus is a different problem entirely

At roughly 2,505 kg kerb for the SE it outweighs two Revueltos' dry weight, and it rides on adaptive air suspension with a standard clearance around 158 mm. Air springs bleed down over a long transit, changing lashing tension on a car tied at the correct height when it was loaded. The suspension is set in a fixed transport position and the lashings are specified for a car that will settle.

Every current Lamborghini is a plug-in hybrid

The Revuelto and Temerario carry a 3.8 kWh lithium-ion pack; the Urus SE carries 25.9 kWh. There is no longer a non-hybrid new Lamborghini. That matters for air: lithium-ion state-of-charge limits that were recommendations under the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations became mandatory for several battery entries on 1 January 2026. Our own rule is stricter — fuel or battery charge under a quarter on every car we fly, prepared at collection, not discovered at the airport.

Air freight vs sea freight for a Lamborghini

Air freight (recommended)

The car travels in an enclosed unit, on a controlled route, with the fewest handovers of any method. Fuel or battery is kept under a quarter. For a Revuelto, a Temerario or a Fenomeno it is the method that best matches the car's fragility and the owner's timeline, and it is how most high-value Lamborghinis move between the UAE and Europe, the UK and the USA.

Dedicated enclosed sea container (considered second)

One Lamborghini, one container, sole use. Slower, but sealed and private end to end, and the right answer when there is no deadline.

Explore Dedicated Containers

We do not put a Lamborghini in a shared container or on open RoRo. Both are legitimate services for ordinary cars, but both involve shared or open handling by drivers who never signed up to think about a 2,033 mm body and a splitter at ankle height.

How shipping a Lamborghini to Dubai works

1

Quote and booking

Model, year, declared value, origin and UAE destination. We confirm the method, the paperwork and a realistic window.

2

Enclosed collection and condition report

The car is collected under cover and photographed in full before it moves — including the splitter, sills and undertray, where loading damage shows first.

3

Origin export documentation

Title or registration, invoice and export clearance. If a hybrid is flying, its dangerous-goods paperwork is prepared here, not at the terminal.

4

Air preparation and transit

Fuel or battery under a quarter, mirrors folded, suspension set, the car secured by the wheels in an enclosed unit, your coordinator updating you at each stage.

5

UAE customs clearance

Vehicle Clearance Certificate, 5% customs duty on the value plus freight and insurance, and 5% VAT on the duty-inclusive total. If the car is not GCC-specification, a GCC Conformity Certificate is obtained from MoIAT — the stage most owners underestimate, and the one we run for you as part of our car shipping into the UAE.

6

RTA inspection, registration and delivery

Inspection, insurance, registration, Mulkiya and plates — then enclosed delivery to your door.

Documents and UAE customs for a Lamborghini

On import the UAE charges 5% customs duty on the car's value plus freight and insurance, and 5% VAT on the duty-inclusive total. Once GCC conformity, inspection, insurance and registration are added, the all-in landed cost commonly runs 13–18% above the car's value. We set that expectation before you commit, not after the car lands.

Two Lamborghini-specific points. First, because declared value drives the duty calculation, valuation and supporting paperwork carry more weight here than on an ordinary import — a clean, defensible file is what keeps a car moving through clearance. Second, a non-GCC-specification Lamborghini needs a GCC Conformity Certificate from MoIAT before the RTA will register it. The UAE registers left-hand-drive cars for road use, worth confirming early on a car bought in a right-hand-drive market. Cars over ten years old need pre-approval; cars over thirty may qualify as classics with a permit.

Lamborghini Handling and Transit Dubai

Lamborghini dimensions, handling and transit

Every Lamborghini is built at Sant'Agata Bolognese, so Italy is a natural origin — see car shipping from Italy to Dubai. Cars fly into DXB or DWC; enclosed sea shipments route through Jebel Ali, with Khalifa and Khalid the alternative UAE entry ports.

The figures we plan around: a Revuelto is 4,947 mm long, 1,160 mm high and 1,772 kg dry; the Fenomeno 5,036 mm and 1,798 kg dry; the Urus SE 5,137 mm and around 2,505 kg kerb. Under 1,900 kg on the supercars means weight is rarely the limiting factor for air — footprint and clearance are. Transit time depends on origin, routing and method, so we confirm a realistic door-to-door window at booking.

Shipping a Lamborghini out of Dubai

Export runs on the same principles in reverse, plus RTA deregistration and an export certificate before the car leaves. The busy window is March to June, when owners move cars to Europe for the summer — Dubai to Europe and Dubai to the UK are the routes we run most in that period. If the car is going out for a season rather than permanently, say so at the quote stage: a temporary export is documented differently, and that is far easier to handle before the car ships. See our export services for the full picture.

Condition reporting, tracking & insurance

The car is enclosed from collection, secured by the wheels rather than the body, and documented in a photographic condition report before and after transit. Your coordinator gives you progress updates at collection, departure, arrival, clearance and delivery.

On insurance, the distinction matters more than the number. We cover cars under Clause A (All Risk), which responds to damage in transit, rather than only Clause C (Total Loss), which pays out only if the car is lost outright. There is no upper cap on the value we will insure. Over the past few years we have handled Lamborghinis and comparable marques in and out of the UAE on the same protocol: enclosed, minimal-touch, documented.

What shapes your Lamborghini shipping quote

We do not publish a figure, because a published figure would be wrong for almost everyone. What moves the number:

  • The method — air versus a dedicated enclosed container
  • Origin and routing
  • The car's declared value, which sets both the insurance and the UAE duty
  • The model, because an Urus and a Revuelto occupy different footprints and need different equipment
  • The season, with March to June busiest

On import, add UAE duty and VAT. Give us the specifics and we will price the actual car and route.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I ship a Lamborghini to Dubai safely?

By air, in an enclosed unit, loaded on a shallow ramp or lift-gate, secured at the wheels, insured under Clause A all-risk cover with no value cap, and managed by one coordinator from collection to RTA registration. A sole-use enclosed container is the considered alternative.

Will a Lamborghini fit in an aircraft?

Yes, comfortably in terms of height, and with real but manageable margin on width. A Revuelto measures 2,266 mm across the mirrors against a standard main-deck pallet width of 2,438 mm, so mirrors are folded and the car is positioned with a spotter on each side. The Urus fits on the same equipment with a longer footprint.

How much does it cost to ship a Lamborghini to Dubai?

It varies with model, method, origin, declared value and season, plus UAE duty and VAT on import. We do not publish a flat figure because it would mislead on almost every shipment. Request a free quote and we will price your exact car and route.

How long does it take to ship a Lamborghini to Dubai?

It depends on origin, routing and method — air is quickest, a dedicated container considerably slower. We confirm a realistic door-to-door window at booking rather than quote a number that will not survive contact with your route.

Does my Lamborghini need GCC-spec conformity?

If it is not already GCC-specification, yes. A GCC Conformity Certificate from MoIAT is required before the RTA will register the car. We arrange that step as part of clearance, in sequence with the Vehicle Clearance Certificate and RTA inspection.

How is a plug-in hybrid Lamborghini prepared for air freight?

Fuel or battery charge is brought under a quarter, the high-voltage system left in its correct transport state, and dangerous-goods documentation prepared at origin. Every current Lamborghini — Revuelto, Temerario, Urus SE, Fenomeno — is a plug-in hybrid, so this applies to the whole modern range.

Can you ship an Urus as well as the supercars?

Yes, and it is one of the most common Lamborghinis we move. The Urus needs different handling, not lighter handling: far heavier, longer, and on adaptive air suspension that has to be set for transport and lashed for a car that will settle.

Can you ship a Huracán, Aventador or other out-of-production Lamborghini?

Yes. Huracán production ended in 2024 and the Aventador before it, so these move as used and collector cars — which makes the pre-shipment condition report more important, not less. UAE rules apply more scrutiny to cars over ten years old; cars over thirty may qualify as classics with a permit.

Can you ship a track-only Lamborghini such as an Essenza SCV12?

Yes. Track-only cars ship as cargo in the normal way, but they are not homologated for road use and cannot be registered with the RTA — they move to a circuit, a collection or a private facility. Tell us the destination at quote stage so clearance is filed correctly.

Can you ship a Lamborghini out of Dubai as well as into it?

Yes. Export is busiest March to June, when cars go to Europe for the summer. We handle RTA deregistration and the export certificate alongside the destination-side import — for example Dubai to the UK. If the move is temporary rather than permanent, tell us early.
