Terms and Conditions

Last Updated: December 15, 2025

Welcome to Opera Shipping. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website (operashipping.com) and the international shipping and logistics services provided by Opera Shipping L.L.C-FZ.

By requesting a quote or booking a shipment with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Definitions

  • “Company,” “We,” “Us”: Refers to Opera Shipping L.L.C-FZ, operating from Meydan Grandstand, Nad Al Sheba, Dubai, U.A.E.

  • “Client,” “You”: Refers to the individual or business entity requesting services.

  • “Cargo”: Refers to the goods, vehicles, yachts, equipment, or items being transported.

2. Services & Booking

We provide international logistics solutions, including the transport of cars, yachts, heavy equipment, and cargo via sea, air, and land.

  • Bookings: A booking is considered confirmed only upon receipt of the booking deposit or full payment as agreed in the invoice.

  • Freight Forwarding: We may act as an agent on your behalf to arrange transportation with third-party carriers (shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies). We are not liable for the acts or omissions of these third-party carriers.

3. Quotes & Payment

  • Estimates: All quotes provided are estimates based on current rates and the cargo details you provide. Rates are subject to change due to fuel surcharges, currency fluctuations, or carrier rate increases before the booking is confirmed.

  • Exclusions: Unless explicitly stated, our quotes do not include customs duties, taxes, port storage fees, inspection fees, or quarantine charges at the destination.

  • Payment: Full payment for shipping charges is due prior to the release of the Cargo or the Bill of Lading, unless a credit agreement is in place.

4. Client Responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring that:

  1. Accuracy: All details regarding the Cargo (weight, dimensions, contents) are accurate. Discrepancies may result in additional charges.

  2. Documentation: You provide all necessary legal documents (passport copies, commercial invoices, vehicle titles) required for export and import clearance.

  3. Prohibited Items: Your shipment does not contain illegal goods, hazardous materials, or undeclared dangerous goods.

5. Customs, Duties & Taxes

  • The Client is solely responsible for all customs duties, taxes, VAT, and related fines levied by authorities in the destination country.

  • Opera Shipping is not responsible for delays caused by customs hold-ups, inspections, or regulatory issues.

6. Liability & Insurance

  • Limited Liability: As a freight forwarder, our liability is limited in accordance with international conventions (such as the Hague-Visby Rules) and standard trading conditions. We are not liable for consequential losses (e.g., loss of profit).

  • Cargo Insurance: Standard shipping rates do not include marine insurance. We strongly recommend that you purchase comprehensive Cargo Insurance to protect your goods against loss or damage during transit. We can assist in arranging this insurance upon request.

7. Cancellations

If you cancel a booking after it has been confirmed, cancellation fees may apply to cover administrative costs and any charges already incurred with carriers.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the Federal Laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai.
